Webinar: Airspace closure – consequences for aviation industry

The closure of European Union, Canadian and US airspace to Russian aircraft and the mirror closure of the skies over Russia is one consequence of the ongoing war in Ukraine. How does this situation affect companies related to the aviation industry and what countermeasures may or should be taken?

The closure of airspace imposed by many countries in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, apart from its political dimension, has a serious impact on the global economy. If we add to this the sanctions imposed on the Russian aviation industry, the problem of recovering leased aircraft or the record prices for aviation fuel, then it becomes clear how difficult the situation is for carriers and other aviation industry operators. It may even be compared to the situation of two years ago, following the outbreak of the SARS Cov2 pandemic.
