Is a wave of strikes coming?

A recent strike of workers in Trzemeszno proved successful, which could cause anxiety among private entrepreneurs. Are Polish companies going to face a wave of strikes, and if so, how to prepare for it?

There have already been many attempts to organise strikes, but few have been successful, and the biggest problem is still the issue of organising a referendum. The procedure for organising a protest, however, begins once a collective dispute is established between the workforce and the employer. “What is important, there is no possibility to conduct collective dispute to improve individual employee demands. Such disputes, i.e. individual disputes are resolved through courts of law by labour courts” – underlines Magdalena Wilkoszewska, Director of Labour Law Department at TGC Corporate Lawyers, in a statement for My Company Polska portal.
