Vaccinations at workplace

On 30 March 2021, the government plenipotentiary for the National Vaccination Program announced that employers will be able to give COVID-19 vaccines to their employees. Which companies will be able to offer their employees such an opportunity?

Vaccinations for large companies

As announced, only large workplaces where at least 500 persons is willing to vaccinate will be entitled to give vaccines in the first place. It will be the employer’s responsibility to organize the vaccination process.

Vaccinations at workplaces are to begin in the second quarter of this year. Another requirement for an employer to receive vaccines, in addition to the required number of persons, will be:

  • to sign agreements with persons willing to vaccinate,
  • to ensure appropriate place that will meet the safety conditions for the patient,
  • to hire medical staff to administer vaccines,
  • to handle logistics of vaccination process,
  • to place a request for vaccines with the Governmental Strategic Reserves Agency.

Large retail chains in the country have already declared their willingness to take advantage of the new opportunity and private health care centres offer assistance in organizing on-site vaccination points.

According to the Polish Employment Market Survey, 14% of companies plan to launch mobile vaccination points. The same number of employers make return to work from the office conditional on employees getting vaccinated.
