Anti-crisis shield – solutions for foreigners


The draft bill amending the Act on special solutions related to preventing and combating COVID 19 also includes solutions for foreigners working in Poland.

The regulations adopted by the Sejm will extend the validity of the foreigners’ residence and work permits.

Anti-crisis shield – legalisation of work and residence of foreigners:

  • Extension of the deadline for submitting an application for a residence permit

extends the period for submitting an application for a residence permit, which should be submitted no later than on the last day of the foreigner’s legal stay in Poland, until the expiry of the 30th day from the date of cancellation, an epidemic hazard state or an epidemic state, if the deadline for submitting an application for a residence permit has been set in those periods respectively.

  • Extension of the residence card and national visa

extends the validity of the residence card and the national visa until the expiry of the 30th day following the date of cancellation, an epidemic hazard state or a state of epidemic if the last day of the foreigner’s stay under the residence card or visa obtained was during those periods respectively.

  • Extension of the validity of the work permit / extension of the work permit / seasonal work permit/ declaration of employment

extends the validity of the work permit, the seasonal work permit and the declaration of employment until the 30th day following the date of cancellation, an epidemic hazard state or a state of epidemic if the last day of validity of the above-mentioned documents fell respectively in these periods.
